Wednesday tomorrow...already!

Hi All,

HOMEWORK:  Before coming to class, calculate your CC hours and see me if you have any concerns around completing the 180 hours. Check your color-coded calendar for CC days remaining. There are schedule changes (see the blog post last week about STAR testing).  This schedule can mess with your hours.

Bring in your PORTFOLIO if it is completed OR if you have ANY questions.  Due 5/7

Bring in time sheet(s) and a pay stub if you'd like.  We'll talk a little more about payroll and your financial plan.

DO NOT STOP GOING TO SITE, even if you have reached the minimum of 180.  It is critical to maintain your schedule as I have it documented.  JOIN THE "OVER 200" CLUB if you can and I will give you a special certificate for your portfolio.

See you tomorrow.

Korrine was kind, responsible, diligent, sweet, thoughtful, helpful, compassionate, dependable and mature beyond her years. Most of all, she had the ability to light up everyone’s day with her contagious smile and friendly personality. The Associated Student Body of Granada High School is honoring Korrine’s memory with a scholarship for a graduating senior who exemplifies the character and attributes that Korrine possessed.

Last Blood Drive in 2014

HOMEWORK:

Our last Blood Drive of the year will be May 15th.

Meet with supervisor or staff member, prepare and turn in your new and improved training plan on Wed. 4/16

Okay......this time for sure!
PRESENTATIONS  4/16: Sam/Tristyn, Carissa/Brittany, Julia/Xochitl, Tania, Taylor, Justin  (contact me before 7:00 p.m. if you have any questions!)

Bring in your time sheet and YOUR W# for LPC articulation/college credit.  I will help, just call.

From Mrs. Miller:

Our last Blood Drive of the year will be May 15th.
It is my goal to eliminate the pink sign up sheet that circulate through your classroom minimizing class time for this process. Please  take a minute during announcements or at the beginning of class to use your electronics to sign up. I have also asked that the video announcements ask the student to pull out their devices and sign up now pending the permission of their teachers. I hope this does not create issues.

GHS brings in more units of Blood than any other educational institution in the Bay Area (including Logan High and Cal State East Bay) No other high school comes close to our yearly donations.
Mrs. Miller is looking into holding art contests to have our own students create the THANK YOU t-shirt given out at our drives. This would allow many more GHS students to be a part of this amazing activity.
      Thank you for your support,
      Michelle Miller

      28 Days to Go!

Do the math.....some of you are already approaching the 180 hour mark, some are right on track to meet it and some need some encouragement.

PLEASE do not make any decisions on your own about changing your site schedule in any way without me being involved.  Continue going to site on your normal schedule even if you are doing well on hours.  If you are not at site and you are supposed to be there, I will have to take disciplinary action and I certainly want to avoid that.

Good luck to everyone going to the ValleyCare Scholarship Interviews!!!!

      MY BAD....  :-(
We ran out of time this morning, so AM presentations for the MT project will be at the beginning of class next week!

      HOMEWORK:

Review your entire journal and make sure it is up to date.  Create a bulleted list of the tasks you do (minimum 25) at your site.  This will help you with the new training plan due 4/16 (Next week!)  Remember, your training plan must be typed and signed by a supervisor. We will work on this tomorrow. I will check your work.  Do not show up without it......25 points!
