This is it!

Dear Students,

You should all be very proud of yourselves...you have completed or are just about to complete internship.  What an accomplishment! I am very proud of you.You are all amazing people and it has been such a privilege to know you and be your teacher.

Remember to say your goodbyes at your community classroom site.  I know how hard that is because you have developed wonderful friendships.  Some of you may be employed at your sites later as well, so for those going to be hired, congratulations!

As some of you know, I am retiring from classroom teaching and heading to the East Coast for several months to be with my family.  You are all part of the final piece in finishing my teaching career.  It has been a wonderful school year and I wish you all the very best. Please send me a text in January when you read your "Prediction Letter", okay?  I love hearing from you and your progress in school and in your career.

I will see you Monday.....don't forget to stay at school after P1 Granada!    Dublin High...your last day :-(

All p.m. students - see you 1:05 on Monday.

Take care,

Mrs. Erceg

p.s. Hang on to that portfolio and keep it current, all right?

Whew! Portfolio turned in!

I have my work cut out for me, don't I? I really enjoy opening the portfolios and feeling the glow produced by the pride in your work and experience.

The only thing to concentrate on is the evaluation(s) from your supervisor

and have it ready to turn in on Wednesday next week, 5/14. 100 points. Thank you to those of you that turned it in today.  :-)

Reminder.....don't disrespect me by not calling in if you will be late or absent to site.  I appreciate you "anticipating the need."

Just so you know.....students that continue to use their cell phones in class after being warned will have the phones taken and a discipline referral form sent to the school office, along with detention.  I don't deserve that kind of treatment, you know I have your best interest at heart.  Don't make me go there...please!!!

Take care,

Mrs. Erceg

Regarding the employment application, print it out from the internet - any blank one will do and then..... FILL IT OUT, omitting your SS# and home address, CDL, etc. (personal identifiers).  DO NOT write "see resume" on sections that ask for previous employment. Employers look at that as being lazy.  Remember to read the entire application first, before filling it out, sometimes they try to trick you (testing you on following directions). Don't forget to sign and date it!!
The employer may ask you to take a brief medical terminology quiz for medical jobs so they know you have basic knowledge in that area.

16 days to go regarding internship, which ends on June 6th.  If you are short on hours, you know who to come see...me!

If you have your "report card" (evaluation from site), I will take it tomorrow - that is actually due 5/14)

UNIFORMS:  Please consider donating your uniform scrub top and pants to the program on June 9th, when we return to the classroom full-time (internship ends Friday, June 6th).  You can help a 2014-2015 student in need.  Just wash, dry and fold, then bring it to me.  THANK YOU!

Nurse's Day is tomorrow, May 7th - Do you work with a CNA, LVN or RN?  Please thank them for being compassionate and wonderful people.

Take care,

Mrs. Erceg
