res ipsa loquitor

....means "the thing speaks for itself."  It is when the situation is obvious, the proof is there in front of everyone.  Well, I call "res ipsa loquitor" when I see YOU.  You are a force to be reckoned with, and have serious potential for greatness.  Know that you will be what you want to be.......GREAT!

A FREE APP THAT PREVENTS VIOLENCE:  (thank you Paige)

It is called "Circle of 6" and is a new way to connect with your most trusted friends.  I will give you 2 CC hours if you do a one page essay/write-up on this app and what you think of it.  Be specific!!!www.circleofsixapp.com

JAKE, TANIA and MARIELA - Please stop by at lunch tomorrow and pick up your HW.

CAHSEE Testing next week!     GHS comes at 12:30 on Tuesday 2/4 and
LHS comes at 12:25 on Wednesday 2/5.  FHS/AV/DHS/VHS/DVHS all come at the normal time, 1:05 on 2/5.

HOMEWORK:

1. Organize your binder.  Collect all of your quizzes, notes, etc. and really make it neat.
2. Journal this week on someone that does not do what they say they will.  Do they "walk the talk"?
You can make up a story or use a real-life situation (no names please!)
3. KAISER INTERNS:  Prepare to give me your hours for January 2014 on 2/4 or 2/5.
4. Time sheet.....get it signed each FRIDAY, or the last day of your week!
5.  Review the handout "Legal Terms for the Medical Assistant" and be prepared for discussion.
6. Bill of Rights:  Go the 1/29 handout on the Patient Bill of Rights and go to the website:
    http://www.calpatientguide.org
Review this website and TYPE up a one page scenario in which a patient right is violated and what can be done about it.  Choose from the roman numerals I through 9, choose a right that has been violated in your scenario, look to the appendices and attach a sample letter from appendix C to your paper.  DUE 2/4 (GHS)  Afternoon class: DUE 2/5.

Take care,

Mrs. Erceg
