Keeping me informed? Anticipate the Need!

Hi All,

Please write this on you syllabus:  All tardies and absences must be called in by the student prior to class start time on my classroom phone and followed up by a call to my classroom phone by a parent before class starts.  GHS only: student calls classroom phone and parent calls GHS attendance.  I report absences to the other schools.
925 606-4800 x 3640  Leave a clear message if I do not pick up.  This phone works 24/7. Thank you.

HOMEWORK:    Check your cell # - is your VM box full?  Is your number working?

Write down or print out the following questions, bring to class.  You don't have to answer them.

  1. Do you avoid decisions?
  2. Do you make big plans but then never carry them out?
  3. Do you avoid trying something new?
  4. Are you staying in your job/relationship/situation despite being unhappy for fear of making a move?
  5. Do you tend to get sick when you have a task you don't want to do?
  6. When you don't get something done, do you blame others for it?
  7. Do you tend to make so many fun plans that it leaves no time for you to do your homework, chores, etc.?
How to break these patterns is what we will discuss in class tomorrow.

For your career center scavenger hunt due soon, first MAKE THE APPOINTMENT (or GHS- stop by AT LUNCH time).  All of you can stop by at lunch for 10 minutes or so, just give me a heads up if you will be a little late to class.  Do not take advantage, just stop in, pick up some materials and be on your way to Med Occs.  Thank you.

PRINT OUT:  http://alamedaca.gov/police/community-resources then you are done with #4!!!!!

1. Scholarships :  go to scholarships.com and find at least three you are eligible for/list websites.
2. Colleges: Ask about colleges that specialize in medicine, choose three, list the websites.
3. Support people: Type up three names of people on your campus you can go to for help.
4. See above, print out the info on the website: http://alamedaca.gov/police/community-resources

Keep a calendar and plan ahead for your safe schools online projects.  Space them out, okay???

TONIGHT:  Meeting on "Concussions in Sports"  - Looks great in the portfolio.

Thank you PM class for providing beautiful cards for Nick, a friend of Chelsea's.  Hey Chelsea, bring a picture of him opening up the cards!  You can all check out the one of my nephew Ian on the wall in class.
                                                         Great job Sunshine Club!

Take care and have a great evening!

Mrs. Erceg
